Palantir technology powers mission-critical, real-world decisions across industries, helping operators to prevent wildfires, distribute vaccines, staff nurses, improve road safety, and more. Our customers come to us with a hunch that the only way to improve their operations, provide the best care to patients, structure effective policies, or deliver solutions to more customers is to make better use of their data. Palantir Deployment Strategists and Forward Deployed Engineers are responsible for turning that hunch into reality.
How would you build the future? Show, don't tell.
Take this as an opportunity to show us your creativity, ambition, and perspective. There is not a single right way to do this - we want to see what direction you choose to take it and why.
Step 1
Create your own personal, free instance of AIP by registering for a developer account via this link. To sign-up for AIP, you will need to enter your name, email, phone number and address. You will also have to upload a photo of ID, selfie, and credit card information to verify your identify. Your credit card will not be charged, it is only used for identity verification.
Step 2
Build! Your response should be a functional workflow built using Palantir Foundry and AIP. The rest is up to you.
(1) You may choose to respond to one of the real-world prompts we have provided as inspiration below, or
(2) you may choose your own adventure. Have a real-world problem you're trying to solve? Tired of a repetitive task you have to complete every day? Leverage AIP to solve it. Search #buildwithAIP on LinkedIn to see what others have built using AIP.
This is not an analytics exercise. We want to see how you approach building a software tool. Keep in mind who is going to use your solution and what operational decisions your solution is informing.
Use AI FDE to 10x your ambition. It can help you plan, deepen your product knowledge, pressure-test your instincts, and build on your behalf — but you should expect to own and explain every implementation decision and the "why" behind it.
Please ensure you are legally permitted to use any data you intend to upload to the platform, including personal data, before uploading it to the platform.
Step 3
Submit your build by emailing a <3 minute video (via an unlisted YouTube link) of your demo to your Recruiter. In your video, show why you chose your problem, who your users are, and the impact you expect this workflow to drive. A team of Palantir Forward Deployed Engineers and Deployment Strategists will review your submission.
Video Submission Requirements
Please remember to review and follow the Palantir AIP Now Terms of Service when building your project. Please use an unlisted Youtube link for the video submission (no Loom, Vimeo, etc.). The video should be 3 minutes max.

Real-World Prompt Inspiration
The prompts below are intentionally vague. You might think you’re lacking enough direction to confidently get started, but that’s the point. The best solutions can be found by getting your hands dirty and finding out for yourself what could be valuable to solve. This is meant to be an exercise in exploring a new environment, as much as it is one where you can show off your technical, communication, and problem decomposition skills.
- Given a patient’s notes, how do we generate verifiable diagnoses and highlight concerns/abnormalities for clinicians?
- Create a simulation model that predicts hospital admission rates based on the frequency and types of ICD-10 codes in patient notes over time.
- Use NLP to extract medication names and dosages from patient notes and correlate them with ICD-10 codes to identify potential unsafe drug interactions or contraindications.
- Analyze patterns of healthcare utilization by integrating patient demographics, notes, and ICD-10 codes to model healthcare costs and identify drivers of high expenditures.
Example public, notional data sources:
Data Extract tar File -- This data includes a notional patient notes PMC_Patient_clean.csv dataset, and ICD-10 codes, description, and vector embedding dataset icd_10_codes.csv.
The PMC_Patient_clean dataset was cleaned and sourced from the following: Zhao, Z., Jin, Q., Chen, F., Peng, T., & Yu, S. (2022). A Large-scale Dataset of Patient Summaries and Relations for Benchmarking Retrieval-based Clinical Decision Support Systems. Retrieved from https://arxiv.org/pdf/2202.13876
- Given various publicly-available patent databases, how have patent filings in the defense sector evolved over time? Are there trends in innovations or influences that are dictating the market?
- Based on defense budgets across various countries, what trends can we identify in spending shifts and the potential geopolitical implications?
- Using notional maintenance data, what patterns can we identify that could reduce unplanned downtime and improve maintenance scheduling? Offer opportunities for optimization and actionable insights to a Plant manager.
- Using notional maintenance data from a manufacturing plant, what methods would you use to highlight production concerns or abnormalities? Provide suggestions to managers by clearly identifying areas of concern and suggesting potential interventions.
